I have fallen off the blogging planet. I'm just so busy working at Publix. When I'm home I seem to be busy on Facebook. Darn that Farmville!!!! LOL And when I'm here working The Stitch Store I still don't seem to find time to blog. I miss you blogging friends!!! A few of us have connected on FB. But the rest of you I miss. I'm back to cashiering & cake decorating at Publix which is a grocery store. I love working there! My cat Joey who is in the picture with me has now turned 4. His son has turned 2. His picture is on here too. And that's probably why I haven't blogged. That's my life right there. Nothing new going on.

No more cashiering @ the grocery store for me. No more cake decorating either. I've accepted the position of closing the bakery. Guaranteed 35 hours per week! With this economy & The Stitch Store taking in less & less money every month, I had to do something. So it looks like my usual schedule will be going in @ 3pm and working until 10:30pm 5 days per week. *sigh* So now my job will be sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, dishes & unloading the truck. Who need the gym? It's going to be quite the physical workout.

Woo-Hoo! This weekend is Camp IwannaStitch! We have 5 ladies coming. 2 are here in Georgia, 3 are coming from Tennessee. We commence at 1:00 on Friday. We'll be stitching until midnight Friday night. Then we can be here at 9:00 Saturday morning. Saturday night we'll stitch until midnight again. Sunday morning we'll be back at 9:00. Then at 5:00 Sunday afternoon we all go home. *sniff*

This weekend will be full of laughing, stitching, chatting, stitching, games, stitching, chocolate eating, stitching, soft drinking, stitching, shopping, stitching, prize-winning, stitching, goody bag opening, stitching, did I leave anything out? Wish you could be here!!!

I wish I had taken a picture of my latest creation. I made espresso buttercream icing to see how it tastes. DIVINE if I say so myself. So then I didn't know what to make to put it on. So I made espresso mini cupcakes. They turned out to die for. And did I write down the recipe as I went? NO! I just dumped and went with it. I tasted the batter for the last time before the oven and thought it was going to be awful. My family wants me to be able to make them again. OOPS! How much of what did I put in? Hmmmm. I do this all the time. I had gotten to where when I created a recipe I would write down everything I put in and measured it. This time I forgot. Can I replicate this again? Some time I will try.

We had a day of lunching and cross stitching yesterday. Sometimes there's just nothing greater than owning your own cross stitch store and sharing it with all your friends. I made cream of chicken noodle soup, baked potatoes and cupcakes. I showed off my new decorating skills I've learned at Publix with my cupcakes. They had the prettiest swirly pink icing you ever saw. I wish everyone could've been there.

I started something new yesterday. When I got this in my store I just simply coudn't hardly wait to begin. Isn't it the most divine shades of pink?

Troop Saturday

Yesterday was for troops at The Stitch Store. You know that's where ladies can come knit and crochet scarves with me around the tables for the troops. Then they get 15% off their purchases. Those of you that know me or receive The Stitch Store's newsletters know about Publix. For those of you that don't, I'll explain. Publix is a grocery store. I've worked in grocery stores a lot over the years. It was one of my first jobs and I'd say my greatest love when it comes to jobs. I've been a front end manager, administative assistant, even just cashiering, I seem to love it all. So with the economy and moving my cross stitch store to Buford, GA with higher rent and utilities, I've taken a 2nd job. I started as a cashier with Publix 9/11/10. I work 35 hours per week. I've needed this extra money just to keep my store going. But I have fun at the same time. Other than my own store, there's just about no other place I'd rather be. My bosses have put me decorating cakes in the bakery. So I've been cashiering 2 days this week, decorating 3 days. I love both jobs. Decorating seems to be right up my alley. Since most of my time when I'm at home seems to be spent in the kitchen with the tv never turning off the food network.

Since I haven't blogged in quite a while, I felt I needed to but sometimes seem at a loss of words. Writing is not my strong point. I'm a relatively quiet person. I often struggle of what to talk about during a conversation.

So this is my blog post, what I decided to talk about. Afterall, isn't that what these blogs are about? I mean, telling people about yourself and letting others know your thoughts?

I hope to make some progress on this. This is Mirabilia's Mediterranean Mermaid. I haven't stitched since I began knitting in October. It will feel good to stitch again. The stitch in is full with 2 ladies on the waiting list. I'm contemplating making chili for our lunch. Perhaps ice cream to cool off our spicy mouths with. Then to make a pot of coffee to warm our mouths from the ice cream. Yep, I'm looking forward to Saturday!

We have another pot-luck luncheon stitch day planned for all day tomorrow. I can't wait. I hope everyone else has a great weekend planned.

I'm still knitting. I haven't cross stitched since the first weekend of October. I've got the knitting bug bad! I'm going to do some scarves through CHRISTmas (which is a couple months away). Then with the first of the year my goal is to knit for the troops. You'll hear more about that later in my newletters/announcements.

My new years's resolution is going to be to learn how to knit socks, gloves or mittens and also stocking caps. You know the holidays are getting close. It's almost time to be thinking about these sorts of things.

I wish I had taken a picture of all the dishes. We all voted on the dishes and the winner received a $10.00 gift certificate from my store. It was called Bobby's Goulash. Bobby is Paula Deen's son. We had a Chinese Gift Exchange in which I walked away with a Visa $25.00 gift card. My first purchase with it was at Starbuck's. We had a grand time stitching and munching all day. It was such a fun day I just had to share. I didn't get pictures of the Publix cake I got for Diane. It was pretty and so delicious. I made salads and ditalini with pasta sauce that was out of this world if I do say so myself.

We stitched, chatted, shopped, laughed, played and ate. A day spent doing all these things with your friends. PRICELESS!!!!!

Yesterday my MIL brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the night stitch-in. Today she brings me meatloaf and creamed potatoes for lunch. I just gave her a size 8 dress to give to my neice because it's gotten too tight. Hey!!! I see what they're up to!!! ;) No really, my husband's family just spoils me rotten. My MIL cleans my store every Monday. She's here to help or just to visit almost every single day. My BIL and FIL fixed my floss rack a couple weeks ago when a little girl thought it would be fun to swing on. That's not what Crescent Colours is for! What a blessing my family is!

Mary Kay has this 2-in-1 Body Lotion & Shave. You no longer have to use shaving cream. I haven't used this yet so I can't say how it is. But if all their products are like the ones I've tried so far, that would be two thumbs up. Even more thumbs if I had them ;) I can tell you the scent is heavenly.
